REVIVING THE BLOG

We wanted to revive the old blog from 2008-09 to engage both current and previous members in conversations about art (and ARC). In fact, we can no longer retrieve the old password so we started a new blog, based on the design of the old one. Kayce Bayer created and worked with the previous blog. Thank you Kayce for the initiative and inspiration!
We copied and transferred the old blog posts here; interview, art review, student paper by our intern, juror's comments from an exhibition. We would like to contact some of our old members for blog interviews. And we want to interview other artists too! If you want to be a contributor to this blog by writing an interview with an interesting artist, (ex-member or not, male or female, young or old), please contact us. (info@arcgallery.org) Or you might have something else interesting you want to share. Our goal is to publish thoughtful writing about art, without polarizing our commentary.
ARC is small grass-root organization. It is transformed with the change of members. We  join  and work to support the gallery because we want to be part of something larger, to meet new people, and to share and learn. Many women have participated in shaping and maintaining the organization in the past. It's those members' dedicated efforts that have kept the gallery running for over 30 years. How many galleries in Chicago can boast that kind of longevity? And what gives ARC the staying power?
